100 collage in 100 days

April 30, 2020

Have you heard of The 100 Day Project? It’s a wonderful annual challenge in which you commit to doing something for 100 days straight. It doesn’t have to be art but given that I’m an art junkie, it is the way I lean. Art Brain is pleased.

I tried the project last year and gave up after only a couple of weeks. I found it hard to fit into my schedule and I got frustrated and just dumped it. But this year, with quarantine still in full swing in my state, I don’t have my daily work commute sucking up several hours a day. Finding the time to make a small piece of art each day is much easier.

I decided to go back to my collages but shrunk the size to something more in the range of a playing card. I’ve found this practice absolutely intoxicating. I’ve been posting them daily on Instagram, you can find them here.  Here are a couple of my favorites so far:

I have a scanner on order and will be making 5″ x 7″ prints available soon. I have so many ideas on compositions I’d like to make and this 100 day period is really helping Art Brain to get everything out of our head and onto paper. It’s been a joy to know she’s still so active! More soon!

i made it to 80
sometimes they are just weird + organization in progress
