02 Aug i made it to 80
If you remember I was doing The 100 Day Project and decided to do mini collages. They are about the size of an ATC. (Remember those? I miss ’em. Maybe we should bring them back.)
I really wanted to test myself because I have a sort of love/hate relationship with series work. Although is this really series work? They aren’t really following a theme but they are restricted in size so I guess? I don’t know. At any rate, I didn’t make it all the way to 100.
I made it to 80.
Which isn’t too shabby. (And wow. My laptop keyboard is gross.)
I reached a point where I just felt like I was done. I debated if I should keep pushing but in the end I decided I felt proud of getting that many done. I still need to figure out some kind of frame or board mount for them because I would like to exhibit them. You know, when the world comes to it’s senses and all that.
In the meantime they are just hanging out on my bookshelf being all….collage-y. I have ideas for new projects so I think it was more that I just wanted to move on. Because let’s face it, there’s nothing more exciting then a shiny new project. Am I right?
Fellow Michigander Debbie Grifka is a master of the 100 day project concept. She’s done several and I am in awe of them. Pop on over to her blog to read about her journey with them, it’s really fascinating! I also really enjoy her newsletter so you may want to sign up for that too.

Posted at 13:03h, 03 AugustI couldn’t even begin to think of doing 100…. but I might try a different number… 44 or 50 or 66 or something…I need to get rid of some “obligation” work (like prepping for QA TV and quilting a 108″ x 108″ quilt on a sit down, large harp but still…eeek!). Then maybe I’ll try one of these. But 100…no…. good for you for calling it Well Done at 80!

Posted at 15:26h, 03 August80 is good. I was going to do the 100 this year but just couldn’t do it. Too much of a commitment.

Posted at 23:55h, 03 AugustNumbered challenges are an interesting personal focus. Out of 61 ICAD cards, I made 31 last year…..sooo much better than the 11 I made the year before. I learn lessons along the way…last year I learned that if I prep more, I do more!!! Didn’t even try this year! just all too hard. Maybe I’ll do the 61 next year. It’s still a desire….
