18 Feb a brief moment of fabric printing
I’m preparing for some classes that I’m teaching in May and also working on several magazine articles and both activities have me standing at my print table again. I love it. There is nothing more honest in my art world then creating pattern on fabric with paint, of creating something new where there was once nothing.
I don’t use a lot of commercial printing tools but I have a strong affection for Artistcellar stencils. I do have a collection with them but I’m attracted to the in house designed ones as well. The stencil I’m using above is from their Pleasantville series, a little mid mod awesomeness. Their stencils last forever no matter what I put them through and I’m not gentle with my printing tools at all.
I’m sneaking in mini printing sessions whenever I have spare moments. And I have new designs I’m working on putting down. It’s absolute bliss.
